Evangelism Ministries

Evangelism Outreach

The world needs the Gospel message. It is the duty of believers, and should be their passion, to go into all of the world and proclaim the Gospel. Roots to Life is actively establishing Bible study and evangelism groups in places such as: -Juvenile Detention Centers -Senior living homes -Hospitals -Homeless shelters Roots to Life uses the methods and information taught in the Evangelism Training Course to reach the lost with the message of salvation. Scheduled evangelism groups are also organized in Middle Tennessee and surrounding cities to impact the local areas. This is done in public, both in everyday settings and in opportune times, such as: -Fairs -Festivals -Holidays Participants should be fairly comfortable in public speaking. We recommend first taking part in the Evangelism Training Course, but any who are interested and are in agreement with the Statement of Faith may take part.

Evangelism Training

Roots for Life’s primary course, the Evangelism Training Course, equips believers to share the Gospel. It clarifies what the Gospel is, why it’s important to share it, and how it can be effectively shared to all people, from children to adults. The last section is reserved for questions, counseling, and for practice with the methods learned. The course lasts around five hours, with short breaks in between each class. Classes can be broken up over a month on the same day of the week (i.e. every Saturday of the month), or a unique schedule can be requested. It is encouraged to request an Evangelism Training Course with eight or more people for time efficiency and practice. Evangelism Training Courses are held at a host house, church, or other facility, with permission from the proper individuals. Access to a TV or monitor that can connect to a computer is highly recommended. Participants are encouraged to bring paper and pencil for notes. Other evangelism classes are being developed, such as Reaching Catholics, Reaching Mormons, etc. Classes can also be adapted for children and teenagers.

Skills Ministry

The body of Christ is called to serve. However, not all serve in the same way. All believers are endowed with different gifts, resources, influences, etc. Service groups are being developed to utilize each person’s gifts to make an eternal impact. These groups, called Volunteer Skills Groups, are led by volunteers and facilitated by Roots to Life. The goal is to use one’s abilities (lawn care, auto-mechanics, financial advice, culinary, construction, etc.) to reach the people in need of both services and Jesus Christ. For those serving as an individual (mechanics, cooks, etc.), or serving as a group (sub-contractors, clean-up crews, etc.), different opportunities will be posted. Volunteers can opt to serve where they feel led. Roots to Life coordinates these opportunities. Serving is free, but the cost of any materials for the task (gas for lawn mowing, parts for car repairs, paint, food, etc.) is not covered by Roots to Life. Fundraising or small money-pooling is encouraged if costs are too high, and Roots to Life will give support in any way possible.

Bible Studies and Classes
Topical Bible Classes
Biblical Counseling

The source of truth is found in God’s Word. Roots to Life offers Bible studies where any chosen text of Scripture is exegetically taught. The purpose of these classes is to affect the “head, heart, and hands” of the believer. The head, that they may grow in knowledge of The Word. The heart, that they may be passionate in truth and love. The hands, that they may walk deeper in their sanctification. It is recommended that a group consists of two or more participants.

Many concepts are spoken of in the world: love, evil, peace, justice, life, death, and so on. But what does the Bible say about such things? Roots to Life offers stand-alone classes and series-classes on a variety of topics, such as the previously listed, and others, such as: -Bible Hermeneutics -The Origins of The Bible -Church History -Proverbs 31 for Women -Prayer -Theology Evangelistic topics are also used in outreach locations. Some of the titles include: -Life After Death -Finding Purpose in Life -Does God Exist? -True Identity -Forgiveness -Dealing With Regret Additional class topics can be requested. It is recommended that groups consist of five or more participants.

Roots to Life offers biblical counseling for any individual: from those who are experienced in the Christian walk, to those who are unsure about Christianity. The goal of this ministry is to give wisdom and advice from a biblical perspective that can speak into an individual’s life, from children to adults. Sessions can be one-on-one or in a group setting. *Roots to Life is not a licensed counselling organization.
