“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
-Jeremiah 17:7-8
STATEMENT OF FAITH
Scripture

We believe that Scripture is inerrant, infallible, and will never pass away; that it is God’s word to mankind: divinely expressed by The Holy Spirit, yet written by the saints of old in their unique styles. It is the highest authority of man, and components cannot be altered, added to, or neglected. The canon of Scripture, which consists of sixty-six books, was closed with the completion of the book of Revelation. Thus, no word spoken today has the weight of Scripture. Scripture is essential to the development of the believer, in regard to its study and application. The learning of Scripture itself does not merit salvation, but it leads to knowledge of the Gospel truths that are necessary to trust in Christ and thus be saved. (2 Timothy 2:15, 3:14-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21, 3:15-17, Amos 4:13, Deuteronomy 29:29, Matthew 24:35, James 1:22-25, Psalm 119:89, Proverbs 30:5-6)
God

We believe that God is triune, as in, there are three distinct persons of the Godhead: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. Yet, there is one God. These three persons exist co-eternally and co-equally. God is immutable, omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, all-wise, all-loving, and sovereign over all. He is perfect, and deserves all glory and honor. (Matthew 28:19, Deuteronomy 6:6, 1 Corinthians 8:4, Psalm 90:2, Isaiah 43:6, Numbers 23:19, Malachi 3:16, Jeremiah 32:17, Deuteronomy 10:17, Psalm 139:7-12, Romans 11:33-36, Proverbs 25:2, 1 John 3:20, Proverbs 15:3, 1 John 4:10, Matthew 5:43-48, Exodus 15:18, Revelation 19:6, Deuteronomy 32:4, Revelation 19:1, Ephesians 1:12, 14)
Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is The Son of God, who is Himself God. He is the expressed image of the invisible God. He was born of the virgin Mary and conceived by The Spirit: fully God and fully man. His incarnation in no way detracted from His deity. He is the spotless sacrifice who atoned for the sins of believers throughout the whole world. He willingly gave up His life, being hung upon a cross. After being dead for three days, He rose back to life and showed Himself in the flesh to His friends and followers. He then ascended back to heaven, to the right hand of The Father, where He is interceding for believers currently. (Matthew 1:17, Luke 22:70-71, John 5:18, 8:58, 10:30, Mark 2:5-12, Luke 1:35, 2:7, Colossians 1:15-17, 2:9, John 1:14, 1 John 2:2, John 10:18, 1 Corinthians 15:3-8, Romans 8:34)
The Holy Spirit

We believe that The Holy Spirit, who is God, regenerates a believer upon conversion. The Holy Spirit is the one who reveals the truths of salvation to the unbeliever. He is the seal of God’s authentic presence in a believer’s heart, and bears witness of a believer’s inheritance to come in glory. The Holy Spirit is the agent of moral change in a believer, which is a process called sanctification; a genuine occurrence of this process is impossible without the work of The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the one who bestows spiritual understanding and gifts upon a believer. (Acts 5:3-4, Titus 3:5-6, 1 Corinthians 2:14, Matthew 16:17, John 3:5-8, 6:63, Ephesians 1:13-14, Romans 5:5, Philippians 2:12-13, 1 Corinthians 6:11, 1 Peter 1:2, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, Romans 12:3-8, 1 Peter 4:10-11)
Man

We believe that man originated from Adam and Eve. They had fellowship with God, but when Satan tempted them, they sinfully disobeyed, and were separated from God, incurring the penalty of sin, which is death. Because of their sin, death spreads to all people; all are born with a sinful nature, having a bent towards doing evil. No man is inherently righteous, and thus deserves the wrath of God. There is no amount of personal altruism, abstinence from sin, or any other good work to be done that can resolve this problem. (Genesis 2:7, 22, 3:17-24, Romans 5:12-14, Ecclesiastes 7:20, Romans 3:23, Ephesians 2:3, Romans 3:20)
Salvation

We believe that salvation is completely a work of God; that Jesus Christ, who is God, paid the penalty for sin through His death on the cross. He atones for the believer’s unrighteousness, and bestows His own righteousness upon the believer; this occurs at the moment of conversion, imparting eternal life and peace with God. An individual receives forgiveness of sin only by trusting in Christ’s finished work on the cross; salvation is only attained by God’s grace, through faith, to the glory of God. If a believer dies, he will immediately be in the presence of God. Believer’s water baptism is not a prerequisite to salvation, but succeeds it, serving as a symbolic proclamation of what God has done. A new believer, however, is commanded by Christ to be water baptized. If an individual is saved, they cannot lose their salvation; any that fall away were not trusting solely in Christ, but were only appearing to do so. (Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, Galatians 2:20-21, 2 Corinthians 5:21, John 6:47, Romans 5:1, 2 Corinthians 5:6-8, Acts 10:44-48, 1 Peter 3:21-22, Ephesians 1:13-14, Titus 3:4-5, Matthew 28:19, Galatians 3:3, John 6:37-39, 10:27-29, Romans 8:1, 31-39, 1 John 2;19, Mark 4:13-20, Philippians 1:6, Jude 1:24)
The Church

We believe that the Church consists of genuine born-again believers spanning all over the world. It is not relegated to merely consisting of a building, but is a spiritual body, in that all believers are connected by being indwelt by the same Holy Spirit. All believers have a gift and/or ministry that should be utilized for the glory of God, while the specific expression of such varies from person to person. Believers gather together for a range of reasons, such as musical worship, prayer, preaching from The Word of God, practicing ordinances such as believers baptism and Communion, and etc. The Church is commanded to live in holiness and to show love to all in response to the grace of God upon them. (1 John 2;2, 1 Peter 1:1, John 10:16, Romans 12:3-8, 1 Corinthians 12:12-31, Ephesians 4:4-7, 11-16, Colossians 1:18, Revelation 19:6-8, Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16, Acts 1:14, 6:4, 2 Timothy 4:2, Titus 1:9, 1 Corinthians 11:17-32, Ephesians 4:17-32, 1 Peter 1:15-16, John 13:35)
The End

We believe that Jesus Christ will come back to earth again; prior to this, the world will experience a great tribulation. He will descend from heaven so that all will see, and He will deliver His Church from this world, bringing His recompense with Him. All people that had previously died will be resurrected bodily, and The Lord will judge all humanity. The saints, according to their reward, will receive eternal life, heaven on earth, and living with God, where sin, sadness, and death are no more. The faithless will be cast into hell, along with Satan, which is a place of perpetual torment, misery, and sadness. All people who do not trust in Christ completely for salvation are condemned to eternal judgment; there is no hope for an individual once they have died. (Luke 12:40, Matthew 26:64, Acts 1:11, Zechariah 14:3-4, Revelation 22:7, 12, 20, Matthew 24:21, Revelation 7:14, Matthew 24:27-28, 1 Thessalonians 1:10, Daniel 12:2, Jeremiah 8:1-3, 1 Corinthians 4:5, 2 Corinthians 5:10, Acts 17:31, Ecclesiastes 12:14, Revelation 20:4, 11-15, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 1 Corinthians 15:50-57, Revelation 21:1-4, 2 Thessalonians 1:5-10, Matthew 13:40-42, Luke 12:5, Hebrews 9:27, John 8:24)
