The Gospel Call
Jesus said, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,..." (Matthew 28:19 ESV)
The world needs the Gospel message. It is the duty of believers, and should be their passion, to go into all of the world and proclaim the Good News of Reconciliation. While it is greatly encouraged for believers to evangelize while going along in life, the Church should feel the burden to go out of its way to proclaim the Gospel. Otherwise,
"How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, 'How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!'"
(Romans 10:14-15)
Roots to Life uses the methods and information taught in the Evangelism Training Class to bring the Gospel beyond the walls of the church buildings. One of the more successful methods is the Gospel Flip-Board.
What is The Gospel Flip-Board?
The Gospel Flip-Board is an evangelistic tool that is used to reach a variety of people with the Gospel in a variety of settings. It is typically a foam-board display that uses games (trivia, item toss, etc.) and free-prize incentives (water, candy, snacks, etc.) to encourage people to participate.
At the end of the game, the conversation is “flipped”, along with the foam-board, to engage in a Gospel presentation and invitation. Typically, a theme is utilized, and the Gospel is connected to this theme. This evangelism format is ideal for busy street corners, parades, fairs, and other large-scale events.
Attending a Gospel Flip-Board event is a great way to help Christians grow in knowledge of God's Word, boldness for Christ, and love for the lost. It is comparable to a short-term mission trip, minus the cost, language barrier, and time commitment. While Roots to Life is wholly in favor of foreign mission trips, it is our burden that the church of America would see the mission-field on it's own homeland.
